Bison Complete Import Roster with Signing of Canadian Blueliner AJ Macaulay
The Basingstoke Bison are delighted to confirm the signing of Canadian defenceman AJ Macaulay, the club's final import addition ahead of the new campaign.

A left-shot from Bonnyville, Alberta, the 24-year-old arrives in Basingstoke fresh from four seasons of NCAA Division I hockey in the United States. Macaulay spent time at the University of Alaska-Fairbanks before making the move to with Bemidji State University.

Standing 5'10" and 181lbs, Macaulay is a two-way defenceman who moves the puck well. He honed his game in the Alberta Junior Hockey League with the Bonnyville Pontiacs, where he had a standout 2021-22 season, posting 42 points in 56 games from the back end before making the jump to the college ranks.

With AJ joining, the Bison's import signings are now complete and Basingstoke fans can expect a reliable, puck-moving presence on the blueline. Very quick on his skates with excellent puck control and a crisp passing game, Macaulay brings genuine skill and plenty of hockey ahead of him.
