TYTON CATHCART SIGNS FOR THE BISON 




The Basingstoke Bison are delighted to confirm the signing of Tyton Cathcart for the 2025/26 season. 




A product of the Bison junior system, Tyton returns to his roots having developed through every level of the Basingstoke pathway to the Basingstoke Buffalo, and now the senior side. At just 21 years old, the defenceman has already logged over 100 games of senior hockey with the Slough Jets and Bees IHC, establishing himself as a dependable and strong presence on the blue line. 




On signing Tyton, Head Coach Jeff Flanagan said "Ty is a dependable defenceman with a high compete level. We’re pleased to bring him to Basingstoke, and we are looking forward to him patrolling the blueline for the Herd this season." 




Tyton is a defenceman with a lot of grit, who takes pride in protecting his crease and making life difficult for opposing forwards and his physical edge makes him a tough d-man to play against. Tyson is known for shutting down plays and making smart passes to jump-start the attack and the club is confident he’ll be a key piece of our blue line as we build toward a successful campaign. 




On his return, Tyton has a message for the fans “Hey Bison fans! I can’t wait for September to get started with my hometown team. As a kid it was my dream to play for the Bison and now finally getting the opportunity there is no other jersey I would rather put on! The rebuild is heading in the right direction with dedicated management, a great locker room and the best fans in the league! See you in September and bring the noise!”
